WHAT ARE AUTOLOGOUS SERUM EYE DROPS?
Autologous serum eye drops are sterile eye drops prepared from a patient's own blood serum. Because they contain many of the same proteins, growth factors, and vitamins naturally found in healthy tears — including vitamin A, fibronectin, and EGF (epidermal growth factor) — they can provide relief for patients with severe, refractory dry eye when nothing else works.
